  • Making sure your screen is at the correct height
  • Using a document holder if you use paperwork while working at a screen

Workstations

  • Meeting your physical needs
  • Sharing a workstation
  • Leaving space between the edge of the desk and the keyboard
  • Keeping your monitor around an arm’s length away

Test & Certification

Approximately one million people in the UK cope with musculoskeletal disorders linked to incorrect DSE, many of whom have had to claim compensation to support themselves because of their injuries. The law requires employers to provide appropriate equipment and DSE training for any staff who use display screens for more than an hour each day. When employers provide this training, employees can reduce the risk of injuring themselves with strains and stresses.

This DSE training will help you understand the negative impact that incorrect use of DSE equipment can have on your health and show you how to prevent Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). You’ll also learn how to maintain a strong posture while using DSE equipment, how to meet DSE regulations and how to conduct a DSE assessment. With these skills in place, you can avoid muscle injuries, eye strain, headaches and neck pain.

At the end of the online abrasive wheels training, you will be given a 20-question, multiple-choice test. The required pass rate is 85%. You will be able to download and print a digital certificate on completion of the course. A course certificate is 12 months for this annual refresher.

Duration

The course will take approximately 12 minutes to complete, excluding the final exam.
