Who is this course for?
Everybody in your workplace must have this training.
If you work anywhere from an office, to a school or college, a library, a factory, a shop or a construction site, you will be carrying out manual handling tasks all the time. Manual handling is defined as the 'transporting or supporting of a load by hand or by bodily force'. Because of the amount of manual handling that takes place in peoples’ everyday lives, it is no surprise that more than a third of all workplace injuries result from these activities. As you would expect, the course focuses on how to prevent injury. It covers the mechanics of the spine, factors to consider when handling a load, legal aspects, correct postures and positioning and how to risk assess correctly. By using the ETD system, the benefits go far beyond what you would find with other training packages.
